The fire pump is the heart of the entire fire protection system. Quick start, continuous and reliable operation of pumping fire water is essential. Choosing a fire pump with reliable quality and daily maintenance are very important in fire fighting work. In daily use, fire pumps often encounter various common problems, such as vibration, abnormal noise, and high temperature. A series of questions, why does the fire pump heat up, and the measures we should deal with.
The fire pump has a cooling system, which is divided into manual and automatic. Its working principle is to control the heat dissipation capacity of the heat exchanger by controlling the ball valve. The engine cooling system of the diesel engine fire pump adopts double closed-loop heat exchangers. The cooling water from the pump outlet pipe to the heat exchanger is controlled by a ball valve, so that the cooling water temperature of the body is between 85 and 95 °C. If the water temperature is too high, the opening of the ball valve can be increased to increase the heat dissipation capacity of the heat exchanger; otherwise, the opening of the ball valve can be closed. Automatically control the fire pump group, and add a solenoid valve in parallel with the ball valve in the heat pipeline. The solenoid valve has an automatic temperature switch. After 20 seconds, the water temperature of the diesel engine still exceeds 95°C. The automatic control system will issue an audible and visual alarm, and the staff will go to the scene to check the cause.

After understanding the working principle of the cooling system of the fire fighting equipment, as long as we know the main reasons why the temperature of the diesel engine fire pump is too high, in the future use and maintenance process, we can easily find out the problem when encountering such a situation, Simple problems can be repaired by themselves. The main reasons for the overheating of the fire pump are as follows:
1: Diesel engine fire pump running for a long time can easily lead to overload operation. Therefore, in the operation of the fire pump, we need to pay attention to avoid the long-term high-speed and overload operation of the diesel engine.
2: The oil radiator of the diesel engine fire pump is blocked by foreign objects, resulting in poor heat dissipation. When the blockage is found, we only need to clear the blockage and the problem can be solved.
3: The cylinder of the diesel engine fire pump leaks, and the high temperature gas enters the oil pan to heat the oil in the oil pan.
4: The cooling fan speed of the air cooler of the diesel engine fire pump is too low, which reduces the cooling intensity and increases the body temperature of the diesel engine.
5: The position of the oil temperature adjustment switch of the diesel engine fire pump is incorrect.
The fire fighting equipment checks whether the above components are faulty, and basically can find out the cause of the high temperature of the fire pump.
